John A. Catsimatidis is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of United Metro Energy Corp. He is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, President, and the founder of Red Apple Group, Inc., which is a holding company for a number of his businesses, including United Refining Company, Gristedes Foods, Red Apple Supermarkets, and United Riverhead Terminal, Inc.
Nelson Happy is Vice Chairman of United Metro Energy Corp. As an attorney, Nelson has provided advice to scores of public and private corporate clients on a wide variety of legal issues including labor and employment, securities, contracts, negotiations, financing, environmental regulations, risk management and aviation. He has successfully prosecuted and defended many tort and commercial litigation matters. Mr. Happy has also been the managing partner of two law firms and CEO of three public companies and three private companies. He is a former law school professor and dean. Nelson has a JD from Columbia University School of Law and a BS from Syracuse University.
Daniel M. Gianfalla is Vice Chairman of United Metro Energy Corp. for Acquisitions and Government Affairs. He has worked in the petroleum industry for over 35 years and previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of United Metro Energy since 2013. Mr. Gianfalla is a Master Mariner and sailed on ocean-going tankers for many years with Exxon Shipping Co. He joined Tosco Corporation in 1993 and later served as Vice President of Tosco Pipeline Company. Following the merger of Tosco and Phillips Petroleum, he held a number of management positions in both ConocoPhillips and Phillips 66 Co., overseeing petroleum distribution and pipeline operations on the U.S. East Coast. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY., and accepted a commission as a U.S. Navy Reserve Officer.
Fred Spivak is the President of United Metro Energy Corp. He also serves as Chief Financial Officer of the parent company, United Refining Inc. Fred was previously employed by Alvarez and Marsal, providing consulting services to Private Equity firm portfolio companies. As a consultant, he was an Interim President for a Defense Contracting Firm, Interim CFO for a Manufacturer of Motor Coaches, a Board Member for a Manufacturer of Tabletop Products, and an advisor on strategic acquisitions. Fred has also served as Vice President, Portfolio Operations for a Private Equity Firm with over $6B of assets under management. Robert Leavy is the Director of Energy, Supply and Distribution for United Metro Energy Corp. He has over 25 years of extensive experience in the energy industry. Primarily, Robert's responsibility involves trading United Metro’s product inventory in order to hedge and protect it against market volatility. Additionally, Robert is responsible for securing supply contracts for gasoline, distillates, natural gas, and residuals, as well as managing all aspects of the natural gas business at our affiliate United Metro Energy Service Corp. Robert’s other responsibilities include oversight and management of large municipal and corporate fuel contracts, wholesale business, fixed price contracts and high profile sales. Tony Camodeo is Manager of Wholesale & Commercial Sales. He has been with the company for 18 years and has over 25 years experience in the energy industry. His responsibilities include distillate and gasoline sales for United Metro's three terminals: Brooklyn, Calverton, and Riverhead. Along with the wholesale business, Tony is responsible for delivered-in motor fuel sales. Motie holds numerous industry certifications including HVAC, NORA (National Oilheat Research Alliance) Silver and Gold certification, a license for installations in Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties, and other parts of New York, and he is an associate Board Member of the New York City Oil and Energy Service Professionals (OESP-NYC). Motie helped introduce biofuels to United Metro, due to his membership at the Air Resources Group.
